Explore Kerikeri and the Wider Bay of Islands
A Vibrant Town. A Region Full of History.
Kerikeri is in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand’s own subtropical paradise. Experience the lifestyle – birds, beaches, food, fishing and really great people. We are three hours north of Auckland. Travel State Highway 1 through Kawakawa then turn right onto State Highway 10 and right again at the roundabout which is clearly signposted to Kerikeri.
Kerikeri Court Motel is located in the town centre. Look out for the on-site cafe, Santeez Cafe at the front of the motel. There are daily flights to Bay Of Islands Airport from Auckland; rental cars and transfer services are available.

Stone Store and Mission House
Established in 1819 by the Church Missionary Society, Kerikeri Mission Station was a junction of early Māori-Pākehā contact.
The Stone Store was built in 1836, and has been used as a trading post, library, barracks, school, general store, post office and dairy.
Kemp House is Aotearoa New Zealand’s oldest surviving building (1822).

The Packhouse Market
On both days of the weekend, the Packhouse Market is a vibrant market with a large variety of stallholders showing their local produce and arts and crafts.
All through the week, the cafe is open with fresh coffee and in house baked goods.

Out on the Bay
The magnificent Bay of Islands has a multitude of things to do. Whether you are out on the water, or visiting Paihia or Russell, there is so much to do and experience. Soem of the countries bets fishing is just on our doorstep and so many locals ready to give you a taste.

Restaurants
There are a large number of restaurants close by and further afield in Paihia and Russell. Whether you are looking for something simple and family friendly, or something more fine dining, there will be something within a short walk or drive.

Rainbow Falls and other walks
The are plenty of short and longer walks in Kerikeri and the wider Bay of Islands area. Walk alongside the Kerikeri River to Rainbow Falls or try something more strenuous by walking out to the Cape Brett Lighthouse. Something for all fitness levels and ages.

Pou Herenga Tai - Cycle Trail
Take a ride from coast to coast on Pou Herenga Tai – the Twin Coast Cycle Trail. Bring your own bike or take advantage of the mant bike hirage and transport options to to one or all three days on the trail. It’s a great way to see the country!
